The Dodgers are already in hot pursuit of Zack Greinke, Hiroki Kuroda, and James Shields, now enter Anibal Sanchez. The Dodgers figure to be the busiest team in free agency this winter. The Dodgers have money to spend and are not willing to settle for anything less than a World Series in 2013.
The Dodgers have Clayton Kershaw, Josh Beckett, Chad Billingsley, Chris Capuano, Aaron Harang and Ted Lilly under contract for 2013. However, I fully expect at least one of Beckett, Capuano, Harang to be needed. I also fully expect Ted Lilly’s time in Los Angeles to come to an end.
Sanchez, 28, went 9-13 posting a 3.86 ERA and adding 167 strikeouts in 195.2 innings for the Marlins and Tigers. Like Greinke he was traded midseason and was ineligible for a qualifying offer. This means teams won’t have to surrender a draft pick to sign Greinke or Sanchez, putting them very high on the Dodgers’ wishlist.

Anibal Sanchez would be a solid fit in the Dodgers rotation.
