It’s getting close to the trade deadline and a good hitter has become the Dodgers priority as it’s now more important than pitching after Manny’s third trip to the disabled list this season due to a right calf strain on Tuesday. I’m sure Colletti has a lot on his mind about trades, whether it’s for pitching or hitting. As we reported earlier, we are pushing for a Dan Uggla trade. Uggla is the answer for 2010 and he could be the second baseman of the future for the Dodgers. In addition, adding a strong bat at second base could allow some flexibility in the offseason when Manny departs.
Ned Colletti will have do something. You never know what can happen, so right now Colletti is making an attempt to get a solid bat while Manny could be out for at least 3 weeks. Names should begin surfacing over the next several days, things are about to heat up this weekend.
