There have recently been many rumors of Kevin Youkilis being traded to the Diamondbacks, White Sox, Phillies, Indians and the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Boston Red Sox have denied the trade rumors but only time will tell what will happen. The Dodgers could use a 2008 Hank Aaron Award winning three-time MLB All-Star playing on the corners of the field, especially if he’s a potential James Loney replacement. Youkilis is currently hitting .225 with a .311 OBP with 13 RBIs, and 4 home runs.

Having a veteran power hitter in the infield is something the Dodgers wouldn’t say no to. While Youkilis was on the disabled list for 22 games earlier this season, rookie Will Middlebrooks took his place and left an impression on the Red Sox and could be the new veteran Boston 3rd baseman someday in the future. Youkilis was taken out of Boston’s lineup for a 3rd straight game today, allowing Middlebrooks more playing time. With the Red Sox indicating they’re more interested in Middlebrooks being an everyday starter rather than Youkilis shows that Kevin and the Boston Red Sox will most likely be separated soon, but nothing is official yet.

  1. Hey Dodgers quit buying washed up old infielders. Hanley Ramirez and Grienke are available, go grab them! Pay a little money to get guys that are going to be productive. Stop with all this over the hill nonsense. The Either deal was WAYYYYYYY too generous, should have put that money towards Carlos Gonzalez.

  2. Hanley Ramirez isn't going to be traded. Don't kid yourself. Have you seen his contract? Way too good for Miami to trade him. And why trade for Greinke when we can sign him in a few months anyways.
