Dylan Hernandez tweets the Dodgers have pulled out of the Ryan Dempster talks. Colletti stood his ground. Give him props for that at least. Tim Brown confirms.

Here’s the latest from Joel Sherman, Less than 1 hr to deadline and Yankees ownership not presented with any $ to consider yet on Dempster. Again logistics For Dempster to get to Yankees, commissioners office would also have to OK more than $1M exchanging hands. Just not lot time for all this.

Ken Rosenthal reports that the Dodgers are standing their ground. He points out that they have made deals without moving any of top 7-8 prospects. The Dodgers are refusing to move any of them for rental like Dempster. He says the Dodgers haven’t given up yet, the staredown continues.

The Dodgers are working on two major deals. Dodgers seem to have backup plan(s) in case Dempster talks went south. Pursuing starting pitching on multiple fronts, tweets Kevin Goldstein.

Ken Rosenthal is tweeting the Dodgers remain focused on Dempster and want him even if they add another pitcher. Also looking at hitters, too. Say what?! Hitters, Dempster and another pitcher? Wow.

Dempster is scheduled to start tonight, of course I am pretty much thinking the trade deadline is going to throw a wrench into that gear.

Jayson Stark tweets that a Victorino trade would also mean Soriano won’t be attached to any Dempster trade to LA. They preferred Victorino all along anyway.

  1. Vicorino was a good move but I rather have soriano to add protection for hanley.

    • I agree. I was really hoping for a Dempster/Soriano move at the end there, but it just didn’t happen. At least we didn’t mortgage the future or trade Zach Lee, cuz you know if McCourt was around that would’ve happened for sure.

  2. Agreed. I was really hoping for a Dempster/Soriano move at the end there, but it just didn’t happen. At least the Dodgers didn’t trade Webster or Lee, cuz you know if McCourt was around we would’ve done it to save money. Best deadline moves in a very long time.

  3. Thanks a lot for giving everyone an extraordinarily nice chance to read in detail from this site. It’s usually so pleasant plus full of fun for me personally and my office fellow workers to search your website at minimum thrice in a week to study the fresh issues you have got. Not to mention, I’m certainly satisfied considering the tremendous opinions served by you. Certain 3 facts on this page are particularly the most beneficial we’ve ever had.
