The energetic former manager and front office legend Tommy Lasorda suffered a mild heart attack in New York. The remarkable Dodger front man who led the Dodgers to one shy of 1600 victories was resting at New York-Presbyterian hospital this evening. Lasorda suffered a heart attack during his last year as Dodgers manager in 1996. Lasorda was in New York first to ring the opening bell at the NASDAQ exchange, followed by representing the Dodgers for the 2012 draft. “The doctors confirmed I do bleed Dodger Blue,” Lasorda joked. “I’m looking forward to being back at the stadium to cheer on the Dodgers.” The statement was announced on the Dodgers website. Here at Dodgers Rumors, we hope to see Tommy back in the bleachers in no time.
