The Dodgers have been heavily shopping Chris Capuano and Aaron Harang ever since the Winter Meetings. Their efforts have no doubt increased after the signings of Greinke and Ryu. The New York Mets appear to be the most serious pursuer, according to Ken Davidoff. The Dodgers are highly favored to deal at least two of the Ted Lilly, Capuano, and Harang trio. I don’t anticipate an eight man rotation for the Dodgers in 2013, but it would be by far the best if they did. But that is just pure ridiculousness.

I’m sure the Dodgers would be willing to take some prospects off the Mets’ hands in order to shed themselves of their pitching surplus. Of course I am sure they would also like to pull off another blockbuster and pry David Wright away from New York. There are confirmed reports that the Dodgers have discussed their pitching surplus with the Mets.

The Mets are in desperate search for a right-handed outfielder that can handle duties in right field. Ethier can play right field, but he doesn’t hit right-handed. That speculation shouldn’t matter because Ethier isn’t available and the Mets have only $10MM to spend. Not really thinking they can take on a lot of money at this point.
